Colorado is in the process of creating a new psychedelic therapy industry. About two years ago, voters opted to decriminalize the personal use of the drug psilocybin, also known as magic mushrooms. Now the state is working on licensing 鈥渉ealing centers鈥� where people can legally consume psilocybin in a supervised setting. According to John Herrick of the Boulder Reporting Lab, Boulder officials are beginning to think about certain restrictions for these centers in the city.

A lawsuit in Boulder challenging the city's camping ban is facing likely dismissal after last week's U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on a similar ordinance in Oregon. The ACLU of Colorado filed the lawsuit in 2022 claiming Boulder's ban amounted to cruel and unusual punishment. The lawsuit wants to stop enforcement of the ban if shelter space is not available. John Herrick from the Boulder Reporting Lab joined 皇冠网址's Michael Lyle, Jr. to get more on the story.

City officials have been researching the history of the civic area, which includes Central Park and city hall, for a potential historic district designation. Relatively little is known about the Black residents who once lived there, but if designated, their history would be officially recognized through plaques and signage for the first time, according to officials.

Steve Redfearn, who was a captain for the Aurora Police Department on the night of McClain鈥檚 encounter with officers, said a decision he made helped launch the first investigation in the hours after McClain was forcibly arrested. Some community members are accusing him of a 鈥榗over up.鈥�
